HOW TO MAKE CHOCOLATE SKULLS

A few weeks ago I did a Halloween haul on YouTube with the items that I bought from the Dollar Tree. Among all of the items that I purchased there was one I was most excited about; a purple ice tray. Not just any ordinary ice tray. A silicone skull ice tray.

When I realized it was a silicone based tray I immediately thought of an idea. I wanted to use it as a chocolate mold. And so I did. I’m not going to lie to you, the steps that I took to create these chocolate skulls were quite tedious, but it doesn’t have to be! It was my first time making chocolate molds and quickly became a trial by error type of experience for me, but it doesn’t have to be for you. I will simplify the steps I took and show you an easier way to do it so you don’t end up feeling overwhelmed.


Pour chocolate into a microwave safe bowl. I used white chocolate so that I could add food coloring to the other skulls.

Microwave in 15 second intervals until the chocolate is melted. To help the chocolate melt faster stir every 15 seconds.

s3Pour chocolate into silicone skull tray.

s4Smooth chocolate out with a toothpick.

s5Tap the tray a few time to release air bubbles. This will help avoid creating any holes/dents in your chocolate.

Freeze tray until the chocolate becomes solid (15-20 mins.) Once it has reached a solid state gently release them from the tray and decorate with frosting and edible eyes. That’s it, your done! Easy, right?
